We noticed this week that DB Management instructed their staff to take down the small posters we pined to the bulletin boards in Beach Village. Why? Are we now not even allowed to criticize the way this "renovation" has been handled? HKR and DB management would now deny us the right to free speech and to express our concerns?
Interesting. I guess we hit a nerve with them, as we are advocating that compensation be paid to residents for the suffering we have all had to endure for so many months.

I saw a security guard remove one of the notices on monday. You guys had also put a small flyer in my box so I still had the url. Way to go.
I wonder why they have time to take down our collective action notices, but no time to manage the actual work itself.
Care to comment DB or HKR?
I think you are not allowded to use the notice bards for personal use. Please note this is not for tennants personal situations.
Keep putting these notices up wherever you can - this whole thing is a disgrace. Well done guys !!
I actually think the work is valid and is required to prolong the good condition of the beach village blocks. Construction work is always noisy and messy but the key issue we have in the beach village is that the contractor is not being managed!
I work for a global construction managemnet company and run the HK office. We've just carried out massive renovations to a property called 56 Repulse Bay rd with all tenants in situ. It cost the developer more, but we managed the works to cause minimal dsiruption to tenants including removal of all debris twice daily, limited hours for noisy works, maintaing all public ares in a clean and tidy manner, active communication with tenants with regard to upcoming works and stringent H&S measures.
I've just written to the becah village owners committee with some questions to ask the DB managemnet. These include concers with:
unsafe working practise by the contractor.
contamination of soil due to dsiposal of debris and builers materials on all the 'green' areas around the blocks and asking what the independant PM's we are paying for (see beach village accounts) are actually doing!
I'm contemplating a complaint to the environmental protection department re: noise, soil contamination and exposure of residents to hazardous materials (the glue/ epoxy for the new tiles) as well as a complaint to the buildings department as to the unsafe working practise of the contractor.
I actually know the independant PM co, Babtie Asia as they often approach us for work. I will be discussing my concerns with the director responsible for these works tomorrow.
It's very disappointing to see poor contractor performance in HK, but the level of service will be driven by the price paid, and it's obvious we have been sold a cheap fix with no consideration of residents wellfare.
